We have a new permanent, full-time position in Leawood, Kansas, for a Finance Manager reporting to the Director of Accounting Operations. This position supports multiple business units across the world with a focus on aspects that impact gross margin.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundamentals of the role

• Perform accounting responsibilities throughout the month, with added emphasis on completeness and accuracy at month-end.

• Resolve discrepancies in complex partner billing through analysis of transactional data to produce timely and accurate payments.

• Document balance sheet accounts, general ledger analyses and reconciliations as part of the month-end close in a timely and accurate manner. Perform journal entries as needed.

• Detailed understanding of the data flows among transaction processing, billing, general ledger, and treasury systems. Ensure systems are updated to reflect current business relationships.

• Provide leadership and direct supervision as needed.

Clean balance sheet

• Reconcile complex balance sheet accounts integral to the activities of the department regularly.

• Train to be able to perform all balance sheet account reconciliations with a view to be an approver; accounts being Cash, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, Accounts Payable, Clearing and Accrued Liabilities.

• Interpret reconciliations to bridge between accounting and operations/IT; and to resolve issues and maintain a clean balance sheet.

Compliance

• Document all activities in an auditable manner.

• Ensure local regulations as well as company procedures are adhered to.

• Assume responsibility for internal and external audit assistance and documentation.

Requirements:

• Quick learner, and strong self-starter.

• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

• 5 years of relevant finance and/or accounting experience.

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting required. CPA and/or MBA preferred.

• Demonstrated experience with billing and GL systems.

• Experience performing complex account reconciliations.

• Good understanding of documentation for internal and external audits.

• Strong MS Office and SQL skills.

• Ability to interact and build relationships, outstanding written and verbal skills. • Past leadership and/or supervisory responsibility preferred. Willingness to grow required.
